Studio-SwK brings groups of people with shared values together to make social change happen. A giving circle is a democratic way to pool donations and collectively decide where to make a pooled gift. Giving circles support with their dollars, but also build awareness, volunteer, become board members and more. Individuals multiply their impact and knowledge, have fun, and connect with their local community.

Each quarter, members are invited to participate in our private Giving Circle created specifically to support non-profits in your own city.

Each quarter's "Gather and Grant" cycle goes like this:

GATHER - We produce a robust calendar of social fundraisers, offering you plenty of opportunities to connect with like-minded members and contribute to the collective giving fund.

NOMINATE - You have the power to shine a spotlight on the charities that matter most to you. At the start of each quarter, we launch a nomination drive where you can submit charities for grant consideration.

PRESENT - A committee will research, interview, and vet the nominated charities and narrow the list down to 3 exceptional charities who will present their organizations and the impact they are making to our members at a voting event.

VOTE - Your voice matters! We invite you to cast your vote to determine the one charity that most captures our hearts and will receive the current quarter’s pooled donations in the form of one large grant.

DONATE - At the close of each quarter, we invite the entire community to join us for a large Gather and Grant celebration where the selected non profit will receive our pooled donations from the quarter.

We ask members to commit to donating a minimum of $100 per quarter to the Giving Circle, which might seem small individually, but when we put our resources together, it becomes something truly impactful.

REPEAT - Each quarter, we repeat the same cycle of gathering, nominating, voting, and donating, and always while having fun enjoying the wine lifestyle. It’s a cycle of gathering and giving that never gets old!

While there is no hard and fast rule for how much you "should" donate, we suggest that, if feasible, each member donates a minimum of $100 per quarter into the giving circle.

For example: Just 100 members giving $100 per quarter = $10,000 to a local non-profit 4 times per year

Vin Social's mission is to usher in a new era of philanthropy that is inclusive, social and fun. By using the mechanism of collective giving, our community can pool donations of all sizes (even small donations add up) and make a larger impact together.

The beauty of the giving circle is that that beneficiary of our pooled donations is entirely up to the collective to decide.

Each quarter we will request non-profit nominations from our members and a volunteer committee will research, vet, and interview the nominees. The committee will narrow the nominees to 3 exceptional non-profits.

The community will have an opportunity to attend an event to hear from the 3 non-profits and vote on their favorite.

At the end of the quarter, a Gather and Grant event will be held to celebrate the selected non-profit and the collective impact of our community.

In the eyes of the IRS, memberships are not tax-deductible because there is an expected exchange of value.

A donation is a gift without expectation of reciprocity, but does come with tax benefits.

We require a paid membership so that we can fund Vin Social's operation and deliver exceptional social gatherings and fundraising programs where our members can gather and give regularly.

All donations into the Giving Circle are tax deductible. Most member events will serve as fundraisers for our giving circle.
